Acacia dealbata 'Gaulois Astier' ou Mimosa, est un arbre à feuilles persistantes, souvent conservé à l'intérieur et taillés en forme arbustive. Il a des fleurs jaunes qui sont délicatement parfumées en fin d'hiver au printemps. Feuilles plumeuses. Aux endroits plus chauds Mimosa peut être planté dans un endroit abrité contre un mur exposé au sud. Il ne prendra probablement jamais l'ampleur de ceux d'Australie (pays d'origine), mais il peut atteindre 15 m après 20 ans, donc il faut beaucoup de place dans le jardin.

Taille: Tailler légèrement après la floraison en réduisant des pousses qui gâchent la forme de l'arbre. Dans le jardin, incorporer beaucoup de compost de jardin bien décomposé dans le trou de plantation. Pour cultiver en pot, planter dans un compost à base de terreau et conserver dans un endroit ensoleillé.
 

Acacia dealbata 'Gaulois Astier' is commonly known as a Mimosa. The Mimosa is an evergreen tree that is often kept inside a conservatory in France and trimmed into shrub form. It has fluffy yellow, sweetly scented spherical flowers cover the ends of the branches from winter to spring. Pale green trunk and large, feathery glaucous leaves. In warmer gardens Mimosa's can be planted in a sheltered spot against a south-facing wall. It will probably never reach the magnitude of those in its native Australia but it can grow to 12m (40ft) in 20 years, so it does need plenty of room in the garden.

Pruning: Lightly prune after flowering has finished, cutting back shoots that spoil the shape of the tree. In the garden, incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost into the planting hole and stake firmly. To grow in a pot, plant in a loam-based potting compost and keep in a sunny spot.
