Description

A large purple leafed variety of basil that has good scented aroma, very decorative.

Sowing instructions

Best grown indoors by a kitchen window or in a greenhouse, sow from March to May. Can also be sown directly outside, but best in pots which can be moved inside if late frosts arrive. Sow the in pots outside from May in a sunny position.

Growing technique

Keep well watered and keep clear of weeds. If it becomes very hot and dry water copiously to stop the leaves from wilting.

Harvesting

Harvest from May through to October, do not allow the plant to flower or it will go to seed. Great for decorating salads and soups.
