Comment tailler |
The common boxwood is one of the best known decorative hedging plants, used
for centuries by some of the best known garden designers, in some of the most
widely known and visited gardens of the world. The small evergreen leaves lend
themselves to being shaped into almost any form from a tidy parterre maze to
balls and pyramids. It has also been used extensively in fun topiaries such as
animals, racing cars and even a replica of the leaning tower at Pisa. Buxus is
a slow growing shrub which is shade tolerant.
Traditionally you prune boxwood on Derby day, but can also do so from August to
September.
Hedge care:
Trim in August or September. For hedges of 0.3-2.7m. Plant 20-30cm apart.
Available in bareroot from October to March
