Thuja plicata ‘Atrovirens’ (Thuya Géant) est un arbre de haie la plus utilisée, feuillage vert soutenu toute l'année, port compact, ne se dégarnit pas à la base même si les tailles sont fréquentes ; très beau conifère en forme ovale en sujet solitaire.

Taille en aout. Pour des haies 1.8+m. Planter les arbres bien alignés, tous les 60 - 90cm.

Thuja plicata ‘Atrovirens’ (Weatern Red Cedar) is a fast growing evergreen conifer has bright glossy green leaves above, which are slightly grey underneath. If you crush the leaf slightly it releases the oils inside to produce a very aromatic cedar scent. The bark is cinnamon-red coloured and the tree typically has branches that spread very well.

Grows well on moist but not waterlogged soil but will tolerate shallow chalk soil.

Hedge Care.

Trim in August. For hedges 1.8m and above. Plant 60-90cm apart.
